VIVIAN L. STENNES

VIVIAN L. STENNES
Vivian was born February 14, 1920 in Amherst Township, Fillmore County, Minnesota to Edward and Isabelle (Hilden) Johnson.  She attended school in Choice, Minnesota.  On December 14, 1938 she married Harry V. Stennes in Burr Oak, Iowa.  They lived in Choice and then the Mabel area their entire lives.  Harry passed away November 1, 2001.  Vivian worked at several places including Teslo’s Cleaners, Red Owl Groceries, and the Green Lea Manor Nursing Home.  She was a member of the Mabel First Lutheran Church and WELCA.  She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, doing needlework, lawn work, cleaning, walking, and just keeping busy.

Vivian passed away Thursday, September 27, 2007 at the Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel at the age of 87.

Vivian is survived by a daughter Phyllis Stennes of Tomah, Wisconsin; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother Wally (Linda Isenberger) of Decorah, Iowa; two sisters Lorraine Benson of Rushford, Minnesota, and Ione Hanson of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry; a son Verdon; two brothers Clarence “Buddy”, and Harvey; and three sisters Elsie Olson, Amy Larson, and Delores Hansen.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at the Mabel First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Curtis Fox officiating. Burial will be in the Mabel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. Monday, October 1 at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel and one hour prior to services at the church
