ALICE  M.  RICHARDSON
May 25, 1927 - August 30, 2007

Alice was born on May 25, 1927 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota to Harry and Mary
(Reaver) Brandt.  When she was very young she moved with her family to Decorah, Iowa.  She attended the St. Benedicts Sister’s School in Decorah.
On November 13, 1948 she was united in marriage to Russell D. Richardson at St. Benedicts.  They lived their entire married life in Canton.  She was mostly a mother and grandmother, but also worked as a cook at the Canton Pub and as a waitress at the Skyline Supper Club, and also helped her daughter Sue on the farm. She was an active member of the Assumption Catholic Church and its Altar Society in Canton and enjoyed cooking, puzzles, flowers, gardening, collecting angels, and the Wednesday Lunch Bunch.
Alice passed away Thursday, August 30, 2007 at her home in Canton at the age of 80.
Alice is survived by her husband Russell of Canton; six children Dick
(Chris) of Canton, Dan (Barb) of Bettendorf, Iowa, Sue (John) Petersen of Mabel, Jim (Wendy) of Canton, Mary Kay (Dick) Hansen of Beloit, Wisconsin, and Patty Richardson of Boulder, Colorado; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral Mass will be 11 AM Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Canton, Minnesota with Father Donald P. Schmitz officiating.  Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Canton.  Visitation will be 4 - 7 PM Monday, August 3, 2007 at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel with the Rosary at 6 PM.  There will be no visitation at the church prior to the service.
