AMANDA LUENIA MATHILDA REDWING
August 13, 1915 - December 5, 2007

Amanda was born August 13, 1915 in Newburg Township, Fillmore County, Minnesota to Andrew and Maria (Bjorenrud) Overby. She attended the Newburg School. On August 19, 1934 she married Lester Redwing at the Lutheran Parsonage in Mabel.  They lived in Mabel where Lester was a partner in Redwing Brothers automobile dealership.  She was a Red Cross volunteer and
during World War II rolled gauze for the war effort.   She had also helped
with immunizations at school and had been a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader.
Amanda was a member of the Mabel First Lutheran Church for over 65 years and WELCA. She taught Sunday School and for several years was a co-chairperson for the food stand at Steam Engine Days.

Amanda passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at the Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel at the age of 92.

Amanda is survived by a daughter Mary (Greg) Hagen of Winona, Minnesota; a son Charles (Linda) of Farmington, New Mexico; five grandchildren Chad
(Marianella) Redwing of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jason (Wendy) Redwing of Mesa, Arizona, Jonathan (Jill) Redwing of Farmington, New Mexico, Andrew
(Jina) Hagen of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Betsy (Chris) Wells of Rogers, Minnesota; five great grandchildren Vicente and Conrad Redwing, Celeb and Jacob Redwing, and Benna Wells; and a brother Everett Overby of Casper, Wyoming. She was preceded in death by her husband Lester; a granddaughter Christina Redwing; her parents; and a brother Maurice.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, December 10, 2007 at the Mabel First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Curtis Fox officiating. Burial will be in the Mabel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 – 5 P.M. Sunday December 9 at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel and one hour prior to services at the church.
