He was born March 18, 1920 at Riceford, MN to Arnt and Ida (Housker) Amunrud. He married Amy Clarissa Housker January 25, 1957 at Mabel First Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death September 19, 2001. The couple farmed in Newburg Township until moving into Mabel in 1993. Robert was an enthusiastic collector of antiques and he was a member of Scheie Lutheran Church, rural Mabel.
Robert passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at his home at the age of 87.
He is survived by a sister, Helen (Nels) Gulbranson of Spring Grove, MN, a sister in law, Signe Housker of Mabel, a brother in law, Harry Housker of Mabel and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Ardes Staven and Sigrid Nerstad.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Saturday, November 17, at Scheie Lutheran Church, rural Mabel with the Rev. Mary Waudby officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Friday, November
16 at Mengis Funeral Home, Mabel, and one hour prior to the service at the church Saturday. Memorials may be given to Scheie Lutheran Church or Scheie Lutheran Church Improvement Fund.
