Glenn was born August 31, 1940 in Worth County, Iowa to Charles, Sr. and Amy (Collins) Kruse.  He attended the Leroy High School in Leroy, Minnesota.  He worked as a mechanic and did custom farming.  He farmed for several years north of Mabel on the “Irish Ridge” and has now lived in Newburg since getting disabled in 1991 after a farming accident. He enjoyed helping others, hunting, fishing, and camping.

Glenn passed away  Sunday, October 21, 2007 at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, Iowa following a lengthy illness at the age of 67.

Glenn is survived by six children Kim (Ed) Pierce of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, Lenn (Rhonda) Kruse of Keosauqua, Iowa, Sharon Cook (Kenny Greer) of Rochester, Indiana, Bill (Deb) Kruse of Fairfield, Iowa, Heidi (Jeremy) Corbin of Lockridge, Iowa, and Amy Steinfeldt (Mason Eide) of Rushford; sixteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and three sisters Gail Shelstad and Jackie Root both of Zumbrota, Minnesota, and Helen Johnson of Rochester, Minnesota.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Michael Glenn Kruse; a granddaughter Nicole Silber; a brother Charles; and a sister Irene Carr.

Funeral services will be 7 PM Thursday, October 25 at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel with the Rev. Mary Waudby officiating.  Graveside services will be 10 AM Friday, October 26 in the Ostrander Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 – 7 PM at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel.
