Reo Dale Tostenson was born November 21, 1954 in Harmony, Minnesota to Leonard and Kathleen (Ferguson) Tostenson. After graduating from the Houston High School, he worked as a mechanic and later built silos. He then started logging and truly enjoyed working in the woods and would continue logging throughout his working years. He managed to survive several logging accidents. He married Susan Kruse. They had six children and would later divorce.
Reo served 18 years on the Eitzen Fire Department and enjoyed racing, playing guitar and harmonica, going fast in his car or motorcycle, competing in chainsaw carving competitions, and riding horses. He had a creative and inventive mind and had many “ideas.” Some that didn’t work out. Reo was a friendly and social person and was willing to help anyone out.
Reo died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 21st surrounded by family at the Gundersen Medical Center.
Reo is survived by his children Tim (Amy Christianson) of Eitzen, Chad (Susie) of Caledonia, Brad (Elizabeth) of Spring Grove, Brian (Molly) of Caledonia, Michael (Katie) of Houston, and Jolene (Brian) Welscher of Caledonia; eighteen grandchildren Arianna, Harlie, Alexandrea, Taylor, Adalyn, Aiyla, Clarence, Vivian, Stella, Knute, Aubrie, Hailey, Morgan and Tyson Tostenson, and Lillian, Loretta, Waylon, and Evelyn Welscher; a brother Glen; a sister Kitricia (Randy) Steinfeldt; and aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
