Marilyn (Dahl) Torgerud, 70, of Harmony, passed away peacefully on August 6th, with her loving daughters by her side.
She was born in Spring Grove, MN on December 12th, 1953, to Melvin and Norma (Vick) Dahl. Marilyn grew up on a farm outside of Mabel with her beloved sister, Norene. She graduated from Mabel-Canton High School in 1971.
Throughout her life, Marilyn worked at various places including Winona Knitting Mills, Rush Products, Mills Fleet Farm, and Kwik Trip. She was also the co-owner of Cruisers Family Restaurant in Mabel for several years.
Marilyn had a deep love for cooking, attending concerts, taking road trips, and dancing. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends. She was known for her kindness, gentle spirit, and being a wonderful mother and friend.
Marilyn was married to Roger Torgerud for 28 years. During this time, she shared a special bond with his daughter, Beth Torgerud, as well as creating cherished memories with the entire Torgerud family.
Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Candis (Shane) Miller of Mason City, IA, and Tina (Tom) Dodd of Dexter, MN, along with their children, Kiana and Ellis. She is also survived by her son, Andrew (Amber) Torgerud of Peterson, MN, and their children, Judah (Sydney Eickhoff), Ashton, Alex, Drew, Linnea, Rowan, Ceinwyn, Seren, Solvi, and Eysa. Additionally, she leaves behind her "brother" Ron Vick and her cherished dog, Bentley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Norma, and her sister, Norene.
The family extends special thanks to Mayo Clinic Hospice, Heather and Tad, Jaimie, Jaelynn, and Bonnie for their support during Marilyn's final weeks.
The funeral service will be 11 am, Tuesday, August 13 at the Garness Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Mabel. The burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4 – 6 pm, Monday, August 12th at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel and one hour prior to the service at the church.
