JOSEPH “JOE” YOCUM, 57, formerly of Mabel died Friday, October 27 in Rochester.
Joe was born July 22, 1966 in South Dakota. He grew up on the farm in the Mabel area with his adopted parents, Lloyd and Jeanette (Roy) Yocum. In 1985 he graduated from the Mabel-Canton High School in Mabel where he enjoyed playing on the varsity football team. He had worked for TRW in Rushford, then helping on the family farm and area farmers, and also selling scrap metal. He enjoyed fishing in the local streams.
Joe is survived by his children Jordyn (Nick) Lee of Houston, Dylan of Winona, and Emma Joe of Minneapolis; grandchildren Lyle and Cole; his father Lloyd of Mabel; siblings Joan (Craig) Rasmussen of Mabel, Sue Ann Yocum of St. Louis, Missouri, Davey Peterson of Mabel, Darrell “Pete” Peterson of Mabel, Phil (Katie) Yocum of Mabel, and Shirley Scrabeck of Mabel. Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette; brothers, James and John; a sister Mary; maternal grandparents Phil and Evelyn Roy; and paternal grandparents Herman and Lena Yocum.
A Celebration of Life will be 11am – 2pm, Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the St. Olaf Catholic Church basement. |
