April 19, 1961 - June 28, 2023

Timothy John Sollien was born on April 19, 1961 in Caledonia, Minnesota to Andy and Inez (Osmundson) Sollien.  He attended the Mabel-Canton Schools, graduating in 1979.  After high school, Tim enrolled at WTC in La Crosse, Wisconsin in the Diesel Technician program.  He later graduated and in 1984 went into business with his father at Sollien Service Center in Mabel.  On September 25, 1982 he married Camilla McConnell.  Together, they had a daughter, Allison, and would later get divorced.  Tim then met Lynn Ketchum, who had two daughters, Lisa and Laura.  Tim and Lynn were married on September 5, 1992.  They had a son, Andy, and after 14 years were divorced.  In 1996 Tim expanded the business and built Mabel Amoco, which is now Mabel BP.  This would prove to be his biggest legacy

Tim was a devoted member of the community and proudly served for 23 years on the Mabel Volunteer Fire Department.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, doing mechanic work, bowling, playing Euchre, Cribbage, listening to music, and learning about history, especially World War II.

In 2006 Tim was injured at work and would force him to retire.  After his accident, he lived out the rest of his life in Mabel.

Tim passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at his home in Mabel at the age of 62.

He leaves behind his children Allison Sollien and her two children Logan and Layla of Lanesboro; a son, Andy (Beth Daniel) of Park Rapids, Minnesota, Lisa (Nate) Halverson and her children Ella, Nolan, and Gavin of Mabel, and Laura (Josh) Hosting and her children Lainey and Gage of Canton; a sister Andrea Folkedahl of Hesper; a niece Brenda (Burt) Hongerholt; and nephews Scott (Brenda) Nelson and Rick (Stacy) Nelson.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Inez; a sister Deb Nelson; brothers-in-law Forrest Folkedahl, Greg Nelson, and Bill, Rollo, and Tommy Ketchum; nephews Troy Folkedahl and Brandon Ketchum; and father-in-law Hermie Ketchum.
