Debbie Stennes

September 10, 1968 - September 8, 2021

Debbie Stennes 52 of Rochester MN passed away at St Mary’s Hospital in Rochester MN on September 8th 2021.

Debbie was born September 10th 1968 in Fillmore County.   Debbie and her identical twin sister Mary grew up in the Mabel/Canton area.  Debbie attended elementary and middle school in Lanesboro and graduated from Lanesboro High School.

After High School Debbie and her sister Mary moved to the Rochester area.
Debbie had a love for sports especially the Vikings.  Debbie also loved the outdoors including camping at Camp Confidence.

Debbie was very active in Special Olympics in the Rochester area.  She has received numerous awards including a 1991 Bronze medal in basketball at the World Games in St. Paul.  In 1995 she received a Bronze medal for volleyball in the World Games in New Haven, Connecticut.  In 2007 she went to Shanghai China where she won 4th place in basketball.

Debbie spent numerous years working at Ability Building Center.  While working through Ability Building Center she received several awards for her dedication.

Debbie is preceded in death by her foster parents Earl and Wilma Stennes and identical twin sister Mary (1992).

She is survived by her foster brother Frank Scrabeck, close friends Bonnie Rowe, Bill Myers and many other friends through REM River Bluffs and Ability Building Center.

Debbie will be laid to rest by her twin sister Mary at a graveside service at 2 PM, Wednesday, September 22nd at the Scheie Lutheran Cemetery, 43117 160th Street, Mabel, MN 55954.
