Maurice Lynn Kerns, longtime rural Mabel, MN resident and local businessman, passed away Thursday, August 9th at the New Hampton Iowa Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Lynn was born February 20, 1940 to Richard and Doris (Booth) Kerns, the oldest of three children. Following his graduation, Lynn married Diana Dotzenrod, during which time they were blessed with three sons. They were later divorced.
Lynn was happily married to Pauline Blaess Tangen, sharing their common interests and enjoying their time together until her untimely death took her from him.
He married Beverly Roed; they were later divorced.
Lynn is survived by his sons, Brad (Barb) Kerns and Devry (Tina) Kerns and daughter-in-law Lorie Kerns, all of Canton, MN; grandchildren Cassie Olson (Brandon Nord) and children Jackson and Alyvia of Mabel; Jordan (Katie) Kerns and children Taelynn and Taylor of Preston; Kayla (Nick) Nichols and children Rylin and Ryker of Canton; Alix (Travis) Nichols and children Brant and Joey of Mabel; Kaysie Kerns of Canton; Dustin Kerns (Taylor Adkins) of Canton; and Brenden Kerns (Savannah Slafter), also of Canton; sister Trudy (Milo) Mathison; sister-in-law Mara Kerns; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Also surviving are step-sons, Randy (Lisa) Tangen and Jeff Tangen, step-daughter-in-law Jo Ann Tangen and families.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Richard (Dick) and Doris Kerns, his brother Shelby Kerns, son Brian Kerns and second wife, Pauline Kerns and step-son Gary Tangen.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., Sunday October 7th at the Burr Oak Methodist Church with a prayer service at 3. |
