Lyle was born June 18, 1929 in Spring Grove, Minnesota to Adolph and Victoria (Humphrey) Rolfshus. He graduated from the Mabel High School in 1947. In 1948 he married LaVaughn Sand. They later divorced. Lyle worked at several places including Rolfshus Hardware in Mabel, a milk route in the Mabel area, Mansfield Manufacturing then later Argus Manufacturing in Spring Grove, Roverud Construction in Spring Grove, and property management in Rochester, Wayzata, and Litchfield. He retired to Arizona and lived there several years before returning to Rochester.
Lyle passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Green Lea Senior Living in Mabel at the age of 87.
Lyle is survived by his children Lisa (Robert) Kelly of Dodge Center, Minnesota and Leigh (Doris) Rolfshus of Golden Valley, Minnesota; five grandchildren Ryan (Heather) Kelly of Wichita, Kansas, Megan (Travis) Gill of Zumbrota, Minnesota, Bridget (Reggie) Stevens of Savage, Minnesota, Victoria (McLean) Severson of Deerwood, Minnesota, and Peter Rolfshus of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Maxine Gabrielson.
A private family graveside service will be held in the Hesper Public Cemetery. |
