Robert was born February 4, 1937 in Harmony, Minnesota Howard and Helen (Ford) Ellis. He graduated from the Logan High School in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. On April 25, 1955 he married Joan “Joni” Erlandson in LaCrosse. He worked at Web Washing Machine starting in LaCrosse and then transferring to California. While in California he worked at Sears and Roebuck, and later ran an A & W in Redondo, California. They then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he worked as a convention worker and later a supervisor. They later moved to Mabel to help care for his parents.
Robert passed away Monday, August 8, 2016 at Gundersen Health Care Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin at the age of 79.
Robert is survived by his wife Joni of Mabel; three children Deborah Williams of Banning, California, Kathryn (Pat) Hendricks of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Howard E. Ellis II of Mabel; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and the Vatland and Ford families.

There are not enough words I can say to describe just how important my father was to me, and what a porwerful influence he continues to be. I Love You Dad.”
