Richard was born October 25, 1930 in Corcoran, Minnesota to Alexander and Bernadette (Gardner) Morin. In 1949 he enlisted in the United States Navy. After returning from the Navy he worked at the Packaging Corporation of America as a printing press operator until retiring in 1993. In 1964 he married Betty Starks. They later divorced. After retiring he moved to Mabel until 2010 when he moved to Traditions Assisted Living in Preston, then to the Mosher Veteran’s Home in Dresbach, Minnesota in 2015. He enjoyed family reunions, listening to Bluegrass music, going out to eat, watching movies, and holidays with family and good food. He enjoyed life and the folks he met along the way.
Richard passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Gundersen Health Systems in LaCrosse, Wisconsin at the age of 85.
Richard is survived by two sons Mark (Teri) Morin of Canton, Minnesota, and Rich (Richie) Morin of Spring Valley, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters RochieMorin, Arnie Morin, Dellrose Desantell, and Donna Redden.
Funeral service will be 11 am Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel, Minnesota. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Canton with military honors by the American Legion. |
