Shawn was born April 2, 1969 in Decorah, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd and Colleen (Folkedahl) Gossman. She attended Decorah Schools has continued to live with Lloyd and Colleen. She will be remembered for her feisty nature and her good memory. She loved music and dancing, and going for rides on the motorcycle, tractors, golf cart, and tractor mower.
Shawn passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Gundersen Healthcare in LaCrosse, Wisconsin at the age of 47.
Shawn is survived by her parents Lloyd and Colleen of Decorah; siblings Holly (Kevin) McCabe, Jerry Gossman, and Vicki Gossman (Wade Brown) all of Decorah; nieces and nephews Kori, Dylan and Carly McCabe, Logan(Alisha) and Payten(Jenna)Gossman, Dalton Gossman-Bakke, and Justin Brown; great nephews Landan,Kiser and Gabe; great nieces Skielyn and Cora; aunts and uncles Opal Gossman of Preston, Wayne Gossman of Decorah, Jean (Jim) McCabe of Minnesota, Wanda Milligan of Bluffton, Merlyn (Vernelle) Gossman of Decorah, Harold (Marcie) Gossman of Kansas, Carroll (Sharon) Gossman of Canton, Roman (Mercedes) Gossman of Rose Creek, Margo (Bruce) Kroshus of Rochester, Sharon Folkedahl of Glendale, Arizona, Lois Lembke of Saukville, Wisconsin, Vincent (Bev)Folkedahl of Iowa City, and Lynne Folkedahl of Decorah; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by a niece Rikki McCabe, paternal grandparents Francis and Mae Gossman, maternal grandparents Norton and Irene Folkedahl, and aunts and uncles Howard Gossman, Vivienne Gossman, Ralph Milligan, Arla Kubik, Nels Folkedahl, Dennis Folkedahl, and Dale Folkedahl.
Memorial services will be 11 AM Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Canton with Rev. Joe Hennenofficiating. Visitation will be 9 AM until the time of the service at the Church in Canton. Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel is assisting with arrangements. |
