Rene was born March 24, 1957 in Dayton, Ohio. She had attended Ohio State University. On December 3, 1988 she married Nick Prestby. She had lived in Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan before living in Kennesaw, Georgia from 1993 – 2012 when they moved to Canton, Minnesota. Rene worked for many years as a special needs paraprofessional. She enjoyed photography, scrapbooking, Pug dogs, horticulture, cooking, assisting with FOCUS (Families Of Children Under Stress), and spending time with family.
Rene passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Green Lea Senior Living in Mabel following a courageous fight with cancer at the age of 59.
Rene is survived by her husband Nick of Canton; three daughters Nicole (Samuel) Vesser of Sugar Hill, Georgia, and SamanthaPrestby and Rachael Prestby both of Acworth, Georgia; three grandchildren Liam Prestby, Joanna Prestby, and Lincoln Vesser; and a brother Jeff (Bonnie) Vore of North Sioux City, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by parents Mark and Phyllis Haines, and a brother Craig Vore.
Funeral Mass will be 6 PM Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Canton, Minnesota. Friends may greet the family at the church in Canton from 3 - 6 PMon Tuesday before the service.
