MARLAND ODELL MYHRE
November 26, 1933 - January 30, 2016

Marland was born November 26, 1933 in Spring Grove, Minnesota to Orlando and Margaret (Olafson) Myhre. He started working at an early age.  On November 26, 1960 he married Marilyn Flattum at the Mabel First Lutheran Church.  They lived near Tawney for a short time while he worked as a farmhand, and then they moved to Racine, Wisconsin where he worked for J.I. Case in the tractor manufacturing plant.  He worked there for 27 years, retiring in 1991.  After retiring they moved to Necedah where he enjoyed fishing, riding his 4-wheeler, and tinkering.  He was a member of the Mabel First Lutheran Church and the Moose Lodge in Mauston.

Marland passed away January 30 at his home following a long battle with cancer., at the age of 82.

Marland is survived by his wife Marilyn of Necedah; seven children Marcia Parr of Columbus, Ohio, Margie Parr, of Necedah, Michael (Tracy) Myhre of Necedah, Michele (Alan) Meyer of Las Vegas, Nevada, Melissa (Steven) Loging of Necedah, Marlene Myhre of Plover, Wisconsin, and Melinda Myhre of Necedah;  nineteen grandchildren Jessica, Jennifer, Jonathan, Tym, Jr., Sandra, Ryan, Brandon, Matt, Nathan, Chase, Logan, Breana, Brittany, Amanda, Amy, Amber, Christopher, Marisa, and Mykala; several great grandchildren; two brothers Vernon (Nancy) and Norman (Marilyn) both of Tennessee; and a sister Harriet Buhler of Racine Wisconsin.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson Aaron Myhre; two son-in-laws Tym Parr, Sr., and John Parr; and brothers and sisters Raymond, Richard, Donald, Doris, Diane, and Gerald.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday, February 4, at the Mabel First Lutheran Church in Mabel with the Rev. Elliott Malm, officiating. Burial will be in the Mabel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 – 7 PMWednesday, February 3 at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel and one hour prior to services at the church.
