Delores was born September 20, 1923 in Lanesboro, Minnesota to Oscar and Alice (Myron) Blagsvedt. She graduated from the Lanesboro High School in 1941. On June 20, 1948 she married Frank Kiehne in Ostrander. They lived in Harmony where Frank built houses until 1953 when they bought a farm near Lanesboro. They farmed there until 1977 when they moved to the Big Springs Valley. In 1988 they moved to Preston where they lived until 2007 when they moved to Mabel. Frank later died on January 29, 2009. Delores enjoyed rummage sales, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, attending family reunions and gatherings.
Delores passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Green Lea Senior Living in Mabel at the age of 90.
Delores is survived by four sons Gary (Marisol) of Novato, California, Mike (Mary) of Decorah, Iowa, Mark (Karin) of Ettrick, Wisconsin, and Steve (Mary Jo) of Elgin, Minnesota; two daughters Patricia (Ralph) Bernau of Preston, and Diane (Oscar) Armstrong of Harmony; fourteen grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4-7 PM Wednesday, August 6 at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. Interment will be 11 AM Thursday in the Big Springs Cemetery. |
