CHARLOTTE E. LARSON

October 28, 1915 - June 24, 2014

Charlotte was born October 28, 1915 in Norway Township, Fillmore County, Minnesota to John and Hilda (Smestad) Dragvold.   She attended the Maland School and then graduated from the Rushford High School in 1934. She attended Luther College for a year and graduated from Winona State College in 1938.  Charlotte taught in Southfork, Flattum, Grubtown, and Choice country schools.  On June 28, 1941 she married Lester Larson at the Highland Prairie Lutheran Church. They made their home south of Choice where they farmed and had resided there until 2012 when she became a resident at Green Lea Manor.  Lester passed away in 1991. 

Charlotte was a member of the Highland Prairie Lutheran Church, was active in 4-H and Farm Bureau, and enjoyed attending the ladies groups at church, quilting, and the Neighborhood Hobby Club.

Charlotte passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Green Lea Senior Living in Mabel, Minnesota at the age of 98.

Charlotte is survived by a son David (Sue) of Rushford; a daughter Karen (Steven) Nordsiden of Le Sueur, Minnesota; grandchildren Elizabeth (Grant Gallicho) Larson and Andrew (Bridget Love); a sister Verna Kadrie of Edina; and sister-in-law Mavis Dragvold of Lanesboro, Minnesota.  She was preceded in death by her husband Lester; and five brothers and sisters Josie Knutson, Gladys Peterson, Hildegard Ryan, Herbert Dragvold, and James Dragvold.

Funeral services will be 11AM Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Highland Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Peterson, Minnesota with the Rev. Dan Watland officiating.  Burial will be in the Highland Prairie Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
