Rick was born November 11, 1966 in Decorah, Iowa to Arlin and Karen (Wilbur) Arneson. He grew up in rural Canton, Minnesota and graduated from the Mabel-Canton High School in 1985. He worked for Gjere Construction in Mabel, Keiser Company in Faribult, Minnesota, and was co-owner of Legends Concrete in Rochester for a few years before driving truck for Missy’s Trucking in Rochester. He operated a curb and gutter machine for many years and enjoyed working with concrete. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, watching sports, coaching youth sports, camping and following the Minnesota Gophers. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and the Legion Riders.
Rick passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012 near Viroqua, Wisconsin from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident at the age 45.
Rick is survived by three children Paige Christine Arneson (Matt Floen) of Rochester, Lauren Elizabeth Arneson of Spring Grove, Minnesota, and Bailey Joe Arneson of Stewartville; grandchildren Cameron and Ronan; his parents Arnie and Karen of Canton; two sisters Susie (Mike) Munroe of Harmony, Minnesota and Sara (Rick) Elton of Stewartville; maternal grandmother Alice Wilbur of Decorah; his special friend Heidi Silvers and her children Gavin Carolan, Ethan Carolan, and Stormie Mullenbach; and nephews and niece Taylor and Jordan Jarland, and Grace Elton. He was preceded in death by grandparents Lyle Wilbur, and Vivian and Leonard Arneson; and uncle and aunt Cleon and Marilyn Wilbur.
Memorial services will be 11 AM Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Mabel First Lutheran Church in Mabel, Minnesota with the Rev. Gail George officiating. Burial will be in the Mabel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 – 8 PM Thursday at the Mabel First Lutheran Church and one hour prior to services at the church. |
