Beatrice Marian Anderson was born on December 23, 1916 in Hesper, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Dora (Wold) Anderson. She was educated in the Hesper Public School and lived in Hesper or Mabel her entire life.
She was employed by Arne Rotnem in his Mabel store from June 15, 1943 until August 31, 1954. She then worked for Leonard Walhus at his Mabel store from September 1, 1954 until January 31, 1973. She was then employed at the Hesper General Store from February 1, 1973 to May 51, 1975.
She was a member and active in the Hesper Lutheran Church congregation all of her life. She was admitted to Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel, Minnesota on December 26, 2002, where she lived the remainder of her life.
Beatrice passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 at the Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel at the age of 95.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Claude. She is survived by one brother Maynard Anderson of Alexandria, Virginia, a niece Linda (Dan) Hoyt of Lincoln, Nebraska, and a nephew Gregory Anderson of Duluth, Minnesota and their families, as well as Irene (Mrs. Claude) Anderson of Mabel.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Hesper Lutheran Church with the Rev. Matt Larson officiating. Burial will be in the Hesper Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to the time of the service at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel. Memorials are preferred to the Hesper Lutheran Church. |
