Paul was born March 18, 1936 in Spring Grove, Minnesota to Larney and Eldora (Danielson) Thompson. He graduated from the Canton High School. He served in the United States Air force and after his service he returned to the Mabel and Canton areas for a short time. He then moved to the Twin Cities where he was a machinist and owned a tool and die shop until illness forced him to retire. He enjoyed working on cars, engines, and anything mechanical.
Paul passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel at the age of 75.
Paul is survived by five sisters Carmona Sauer and Eloise (Merle) Bergey both of Harmony, Dianna (Kenneth) Eickhoff of Fountain, Minnesota, Patricia Snell of Canton, and Sharon (Robert) Peterson of Mabel; two brothers Steven (Lois) of Dodge Center, Minnesota, and Rodney (Carol) of Mabel; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Donald, Eldon, and Richard; and a sister Marjorie Nordhorn.
Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Friday, April 29, 2011 at the Henrytown Lutheran Church in rural Harmony with the Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites by the American Legion. Visitation will be Noon until the time of the service at the church. |
