Reinhold was born July 22, 1940 in Muden, East Germany to Fredrich and Herta Wedmann. When he was thirteen years old he came to the United States with his family. In 1960 he graduated from the Algona High School in Algona, Iowa. He served four years in the United States Army and then served in the Army Reserves. On April 4, 1965 he married Shirley Tengesdahl at the Newburg United Methodist Church. They lived and farmed in the Newburg area until moving to Mabel in 2006. For six years he drove school bus for the Mabel-Canton School and really enjoyed the children. He was a member of the Mabel First Lutheran Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and grandchildren, and farming.
Reinhold passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 7, 2010 at his farm near Newburg at the age of 70.
Reinhold is survived by his wife Shirley of Mabel; two sons Dick (Sandi) of Shakopee, Minnesota, and Darrin (Wana) of Guam; three grandchildren Cole, Zach, and Addison; two sisters Minna Hein of Canton, Minnesota, and Agatha Hildebrandt of New York; and a brother Robert (Linda) of Decorah, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Visitation will be 4 – 7 PM Thursday, November 11 at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel. There will be no viewing. Memorials are preferred. |
