Bonnie was born September 28, 1956 in Spring Grove, Minnesota to Harold and Doris (Foltz) Peterson.  She graduated from the Mabel-Canton High School in 1974.  She worked several places including the Fillmore County Nursery in Canton, Northern Engraving in Spring Grove, TRW in Rushford, Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel, and did home health care in the area. 

Bonnie was a member of the Mabel First Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.   She had a passion for music and her beautiful voice was enjoyed by many.  She sang in the church choir and the annual Christmas Cantata in Hesper.  Bonnie also played Taps for many veterans’ funerals. She enjoyed working on her flowers and yard, bowling, and cross-stitching.

Bonnie passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at her home at the age of 54.

Bonnie is survived by a daughter Megan (Shaun) Hansen of Spring Grove;  a brother Robert (Sharon) of Mabel; a sister  Dana (Ken) Graves of Golden Valley, Minn.; Special loving friend Gary Ehler of Harmony; nieces and nephews Wendy and  Gerrad Peterson of  Florida, and  Collin and Morgan Graves of Golden Valley; an uncle Dean (Heinie) Foltz of Caledonia; and an aunt Betty Cameron of Seattle, Washington.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother David.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Mabel First  Lutheran Church in Mabel with the Rev. Gail Klavetter officiating.  Burial will be in the Garness Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 – 8 PM Monday November 1 at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel and one hour prior to services at the church.  Memorials are preferred.
