Erika was born August 22, 1935 to Simon Eggl and Maria Theresia Schmid in the Bavarian village of Garmisch - Partkenkirschen, Germany. She attended school there and then was trained as a beautician. In 1967 she married John Michael Timmins at Port Arthur, Texas. As a military family and later a government contractor they lived in several places in the United States including Missouri, New Jersey, and Minnesota. She lived abroad in Germany, and Wake Island in the Pacific. She spent several summers in Mabel before moving there permanently in 1989. She enjoyed sewing, volks marches, and collecting glass floats. Ricky passed away Monday, October 11, 2010 at her home at the age of 75. Erika is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband Mike of Mabel; two sons Barry (Brenda) Cutrer of Colmesneil, Texas, and John Andrew (Kathleen) Timmins of Evergreen, Colorado; three grandchildren; and a half-sister. |
