ARDIS HAAGENSON

February 26, 1916 - October 2, 2010

Ardis was born February 26, 1916 on the family farm in near Choice, Minnesota to Lewis and Laura (Benson) Aygarn.  She attended school in Choice and then the Rushford High School.  On  July 5, 1943 she married Clarence Haagenson in Mabel.  Theyfarmed in the Tawney and Newburg areas of Fillmore County.  In 1967 they moved to Canton.  She worked at the Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel for 18 years before retiring in 1981.  Clarence later died April 21, 1997.  Ardis remained in Canton for a short time before moving to Rochester.  She was a member of the Newburg United Methodist Church and the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking , and baking.

Ardis passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Samaritan Bethany Heights Nursing Home in Rochester at the age of 94.

Ardis Haagenson is survived by a grandson Denis Dahly of Burnsville, Minnesota; a niece Rebecca (Charles) Talkie of West Chester, Ohio; and nephew Harold Hauck of Mendocino, California. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence; daughter Connie Reisenbigler;  brother Lyle; half sisters Edith Aygarn, Grace Aygarn, Mildred Stanger, and Esther Hauck.             

Funeral services will be 1 PM Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the Newburg Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Choice Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM Wednesday, October 6th at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel and one hour prior to services at the church.
