Corrine was born October 2, 1912 in Newburg Township, Fillmore County, Minnesota to Thomas and Clara (Hage) Itse. She graduated from the Mabel High School. On November 10, 1937 she married Herbert Simenson of Decorah, Iowa. She worked as a salesperson for McNeil Coat and Suit store, J.C. Penny, and assisted an interior decorator while living in Decorah. They moved to rural Mabel where they farmed for several years. She was a member of the Scheie Lutheran Church and enjoyed sewing, upholstering, and furniture refinishing.
Corrine passed away Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the Meadows of Mabel Assisted Living at the age of 97.
Corrine is survived by a grandson Eric of Spotsylvania, Virginia, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert and a son Mark.
Memorial services will be 11 AM Friday, August 27, 2010 at the Scheie Lutheran Church in rural Mabel with the Rev. Mary Waudby officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Church. Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel is assisting with arrangements. |
