Marvel Eliza (Stevens) Storlie

August 6, 1928 - July 25, 2010

She was born August 6, 1928, on a farm in Preston Township to Jerry and Sofie (Christensen) Stevens. Marvel grew up in Preston Township and Mantorville. She graduated from Mantorville High School in 1946 and attended Winona State University for two years. She married Seth Lowe and had two children. In August 1956, she married Irvin Storlie and they lived on a farm north of Mabel. They had three children. She later moved to Colorado.

She enjoyed traveling and took many trips around the U.S., Australia, Europe and the Middle East. She enjoyed genealogy research, needlework, reading, pen-palling, and playing cards. She was a 21-year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a lifetime member of the Fillmore County Historical Society.

Marvel  passed away July 25 in Arvada, Colorado at the age of 81.

Marvel is survived by four children, Milo Lowe of Zumbrota, Marcella (Ronald) Kimminau of Golden, Colo., Alfred Storlie of Mabel and Sarah (Marvin) Cavender of Peachtree City, Ga.; one stepson, Leighton (Diane) Storlie of Brighton, Colo.; four grandchildren, Heather Bowers, Jason Lowe, Season Lowe and Samuel Storlie; three step-grandchildren, Lisa Tisher, Michael Storlie and Sara Hagen; six great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Susan, four brothers and one sister.

Her body was cremated and a memorial service was held at Stork Family Mortuary in Lakewood, Colorado. In celebration of Marvel's life a visitation with the family will be held Wednesday, August 4, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel. A graveside service will be held at the Lenora Cemetery Thursday, August 5, at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lenora Cemetery.
