A funeral mass will be offered in Canton, Minnesota for Catherine Sensor on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at the Assumption Catholic Church.  A visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the church prior to the mass.  Father Donald Schmitz will officiate the mass and burial following the mass at Calvary cemetery. 

Catherine Helen Linzenmeyer Knox Sensor, our loving mother, passed peacefully from our lives on April 15, 2010 at her residence, Sauer Memorial Home in Winona, Minnesota.

Catherine was born to Frank and Helen Dixon Linzenmeyer on August 18, 1926 in rural Canton, Minnesota.  She graduated from Canton High School and attended nursing school at St. Mary’s in Rochester.  On March 3, 1946 she married Richard Knox and together they raised six children in the Burr Oak and Mabel area.  They later divorced, and she married Floyd Sensor.  They made their home in Grand Junction, Iowa and later divorced.  Catherine spent 18 years at Greene County Medical Center in the dietary department until retiring in 1991.  She will be remembered for her love of gardening, reading, embroidery, baking and cooking, picnics and how much she loved her family and friends.  In January of 1997 she suffered a stroke and moved to Sauer Memorial Home in 1998 to be closer to family.  During her residence at Sauer, Mom was treated with respect and loving care, and we thank all the staff for making her home a place of belonging and care.  During those years she made wonderful friends with the residents and staff.  She especially enjoyed the resident outings, family events, bingo and all the entertainment shows at Sauer.  Her gentle and pleasant personality is fondly remembered at Sauer. 

Catherine is survived by her six children, fourteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Children are Jerry (Janet) Knox of Edina, Minnesota, Steve (Alice) Knox of Kasson, Minnesota, Marie (Doug) Botcher of Rushford, Minnesota, Kathy (Bob) Calvey, of Minnesota City, Minnesota, Susanne (Tom) Kintzinger of Hayward Wisconsin, and Jim (Phyllis) Knox of Perry, Iowa.

Grandchildren are Erin (Tammy) Kinnen, Chris (Allison Jakucki) Neal, Michael Knox, Thomas Knox, Matt Knox, Tara (Mike) Bradford, Luke Knox, Peter (Sarah) Botcher, Nicole Botcher, Liz (Max) Schultz, Mandi (Jack) Smethells, Missy Calvey, Katie Kintzinger and Jesse Seeman.  Great grandchildren are Harrison Kinnen, Owen Neal, Morgan Bradford, Owen Bradford, Emma Bradford, Ava Calvey, and Sam Schultz.

Catherine is also survived by a niece (Jean Kurk) and nephew (John Linzenmeyer).  She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Walter and Alfred, son-in-law Tom Sweet, and granddaughter, Emily Calvey.
