Harvey was born in Howard County, Iowa on May 13, 1942 to Emmett and Sylvia Hermanson. He lived in the northeast Iowa/southeast Minnesota area most of his life, except for over 10 years that he lived in Des Moines.
He attended school in Mabel, Minnesota, graduated from Hylandale Academy in Wisconsin, and took some computer/business training at Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar, Iowa.
His work history included working in a hospital in Omaha, at Deco Products in Decorah, at Foremost Farms Dairy Coop in Cresco and at Bob Allen Sportswear and Airline Textile in
Des Moines.
Harvey passed away on Feb. 16, 2010 at Cresco, Iowa. He is survived by his son, Ronald James, daughter Mary Lou, grand-daughter Christina Marie (daughter of Ron), sisters Anne Curry and Barbara Fisher, brother-in-law Earl Fisher II, nephew Earl Fisher III, nieces Teri Fisher-Fuson and Brenda Fisher, and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by twin brothers John and Richard and by his parents, Emmett and Sylvia Hermanson. He was a member of the Hawkeye Seventh-day Adventist Church.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m., Sunday, April 18, 2010 at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel.
