Amanda was born November 2, 1984 in Decorah, Iowa to Orlenn “O.P.” and Signe (Onsgard) Peterson. She grew up in Canton, Minnesota and attended the Mabel-Canton High School. She then attended NICC in Calmar for Early Childhood Development. In 2000 she moved to Cresco and had been working at Sue-Z-Q’s Family Dining in Cresco. She was a loving and caring person who enjoyed her children and family. She also enjoyed scrapbooking, pictures, her many friends, and following the Green Bay Packers.
Amanda passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 19 at her home at the age of 25.
Amanda is survived by two children Brooklyn and Fredrick Stevenson of Cresco; her parents Signe Peterson of Lansing, Iowa and Orlenn “O.P.” Peterson of Canton; a sister Jody (Kevin) Robson of Cresco; a brother Chad Duneman of Mabel; and two nieces Amber and Abby. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday, November 23, 2009 at the Garness Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Mabel with the Rev. Mary Waudby officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4 – 7 PM Sunday, November 22 at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel and one hour prior to services at the church.
