C’DELL FAY TORGERSON

September 30, 1923 - October 23, 2009

The celebration of the life of C’Dell Torgerson will be held Saturday, November 7 at 2p.m. at the Mabel First Lutheran Church at 202 N.Oak St., Mabel, MN. Interment will be in the Mabel Lutheran Cemetery.

C’Dell Fay Torgerson, 86 passed away at Green Lea Manor in Mabel, Minnesota October 23, 2009 following a short courageous battle with cancer.

C’Dell was born September 30, 1923 in Dover, Minnesota to William and Blanche (Hart) Colgan. She was graduated from Dover High School in 1941. On April 30, 1948 she was united in marriage to Roland Torgerson in Rochester, Minnesota. During their married lives they lived in Rochester, Sacramento, CA, Zumbrota, Harmony, and 45 years in Mabel. She worked for Dayton’s and as a nursing assistant for 23 years for Green Lea Manor in Mabel. She volunteered for the Red Cross Bloodmobile and the Steam Engine Days Queens committee for over 25 years. She was a member of the Mabel First Lutheran Church, Mabel VFW Auxiliary, and the Mabel Legion Auxiliary.

Most important to C’Dell was her family and spending time with them. Her greatest joy was watching her granddaughter and great grandchildren participate in activities.

She is survived by her husband Roland, one daughter Linda (Gregory) Turner of Mabel, granddaughter Kirsten (Douglas) Wyffels of Mabel, and two great grandchildren Drew and Lauren Wyffels and one sister Ruth Vernig of Northfield, MN.

She was preceded in death by her brothers James, John, and William, and sisters Margaret, and Blanche.

She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Memorials are preferred to the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, or donor’s choice.

It was C’Dell’s wishes to be cremated. Friends may call Friday, November 6 from 4p.m. to 7p.m. at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, November 7 at the Mabel First Lutheran Church.
