RONALD  W.  WEBB
June 13, 1915 - July 1, 2009

Ronald  was born June 13, 1915, in Montour, Iowa to Vance and Julia (Goodwinson) Webb.  He lived and attended school in the Montour and Toledo, Iowa areas until 1930 when the family moved to Ostrander, Minnesota and he had to quit school to help on the farm.  In 1933 they moved to Burr Oak, Iowa where he helped his father run a service station.  On November 14, 1939 he married Ruth Ann O'Brien at St. Bridget’s parsonage near Bluffton.  He worked for a short time with Fuller Brush Company, Cessna Aircraft Co. in Wichita, Kansas, and at the ammunition powder plant in Baraboo Wis.  He operated a gas station and general store in Bluffton, Iowa from 1950 to 1953, did road maintenance for Winneshiek County from 1943 to 1955 and again from 1973 to 1980, and owned and operated a Phillips 66 gas station when they moved to Burr Oak  in 1956 until 1972.  In 2002 they moved to Heritage Grove of Harmony.  Ruth passed away May 18, 2006.  Ronald had been a resident of The Meadows of Mabel the past three years and had just moved to the Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel.
Ronald was a member of the Burr Oak Methodist Church and formerly a member of the Elks Lodge and Odd Fellows.  He enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, and baseball and softball.

Ronald passed away Wednesday,  July 1, 2009 at the Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel at the  age of 94.

Ronald is survived by three sons Steven (Debbie) of Byron, Minnesota, Michael (Sue) of Rochester, and Thomas (Diane) of Pine Island; eight grandchildren Patrick (Lyn) Webb of Spring Valley, MN, Kristin (Mike) Lemke of Cottage Grove, MN, Jennifer (Tim) Severson of Hayfield, MN, Nate Hansen of Hilo, Hawaii, Molly (Paul) Temple of Chicago, Ill., Janelle Hansen of Wickenburg, Ariz., Matthew Webb (Fiancée Terra Menier)  of Eagan, MN, and Allison Webb of Pine Island; and five great grandchildren Alissa Theleman, Paige Webb, Emily Severson, Caitlyn Severson and Cameron Lemke; half-sister Ethel Hoskey of Long Prairie, MN; and sisters-in-law Elaine Webb of Spring Valley, and Ella Webb of Hemet, Calif.  He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth; his parents; three brothers William “Raymond”, Roger, and Wayne; and a sister Laurene Price.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2009, at the Burr Oak Methodist  Church in Burr Oak, Iowa with Pastor Mike Blevins officiating.  Burial of the cremains will be in the Burr Oak Cemetery.  Visitation will be 4 to– 7 p.m. Sunday, July 5, at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel.
