Harold was born on October 18, 1923 in Amherst Township, Fillmore County, Minnesota to James and Ida (Peterson) Blagsvedt. He was baptized and confirmed at the Elstad Lutheran Church and attended the Amherst School.
On February 16, 1946 he married Deloris Pederson in Lanesboro, Minn.
He farmed briefly in the Mabel and Caledonia areas and then on the Irish Ridge where they've lived since 1950. In the later years he enjoyed repairing lawn mowers, woodworking, traveling with and visiting his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and relatives. He loved to tell stories and jokes, play cards, listening to country music, and playing the accordion, guitar, and harmonica.
Harold passed away Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Tweeten Lutheran Health Care Center in Spring Grove, Minnesota at the age of 85.
Harold is survived by his wife Deloris of Mabel; a daughter Suzanne
(Dick) Neubauer of Burnsville, Minn.; three sons Bruce of Crystal, Minn., Bill (Sue) of Waukon, Iowa, and James (Cindy) of Spring Grove, Minn.; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a sister Eleanor Flattum of Mabel. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Norma; and a brother Elmer.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the Mabel First Lutheran Church in Mabel with Rev. Gail Klavetter officiating. Burial will be in the Mabel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
