Connie was born June 13, 1961 in Harmony, Minnesota to Darrell and Vivian (Lovstuen) Vine. She was baptized at the Burr Oak Lutheran Church and confirmed at the Mabel First Lutheran Church. In 1979 she graduated from the Mabel-Canton High School and then from the legal secretary program at the Winona Technical College. On June 18, 1983 she married Michael Wilson at the Burr Oak Lutheran Church. Connie had worked at the Aase Haugen Home for a total of 19 years and had also worked at the Good Samaritan and the Howard County Residential Care.
Connie enjoyed gardening, reading, walking, decorating, and being involved the their children's activities.
Connie passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at the Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, Iowa at the age of 47.
Connie is survived by her husband Michael of Cresco; two daughters Megan (Shawn) Merkel of Spring Valley, Minnesota and Leigh (special friend Dustin Myers) of New Hampton, Iowa; a son Ross of Cresco; parents Darrell and Vivian Vine of Mabel; three sisters Carrie (David) Swenson of Mabel, Brenda (Dan) Tollefson of Burnsville, Minnesota, and Diane (Don) Tollefsrud of Mabel; maternal grandmother Velva Lovstuen of Burr Oak, Iowa;
brother-in- law Randy (Pam) Wilson of St. Cloud, Minnesota; three sister-in-laws Myrna Wilson and Connie (Dennis) Ihns both of Decoarh, and Diane (Steve) Eiken of Prosper, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather Alert Lovstuen; paternal grandparents Theodore and Myrtle Vine; mother and father in-law Gerald and Evelyn Wilson; and brother-in-law Larry Wilson.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Burr Oak Lutheran Church in Burr Oak, Iowa with the Rev. Matt Larson officiating.
Burial will be in the Burr Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 8 PM Friday, January 30 at the Burr Oak Lutheran Church and one hour prior to services at the church.
