STANLEY ARDEN HAAGENSON

August  1, 1923 - October 14, 2008

Stanley was born August 1, 1922 in Preston, Minnesota to Oscar and Clara (Ostern) Haagenson.  He attended the Mabel Public School.  As a young man he worked at several places including  a turkey farm, logging in northern Minnesota, for the highway department, and farming.  On June 22, 1946 he married Rose Shields in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.  For 47 years Stanley worked as a foundry pattern maker for John Deere in Dubuque, Iowa and also farmed during that time and after retirement.  They moved to Manchester about 15 years ago and have resided there since.  He enjoyed his family, woodworking, and was a member of the UAW 94.

Stanley passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester at the age of 86.

Stanley is survived by his wife Rose of Manchester; four sons James (Natasha) of Melbourne, Australia, Robert of Knoxville, Iowa, Kevin of Bellevue, Iowa, and Steven (Mary) of Johnston, Iowa; two daughters Patty (Bob) Bradley of Manchester, and Mary (Dan) Anderson of Batavia, Illinois; and seven grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers Giffen, Harold, and Clarence.

Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Friday, October 17, 2008 at the Garness Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Mabel with the Reverend Mary Waudby officiating.  Burial will be in the Garness Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:30 until the time of services at the church.
