Carolyn Ann Snyder was born October 16, 1932 in Canton, Minnesota to Cyril and Dorothy (Connolly) Snyder.  She graduated from the Canton High School in 1950.  On August 15, 1953 she married Hanlon Prestby in Rapid City, South Dakota.  She was a homemaker all her married life while enjoying watching movies, crocheting hand towels, volunteering at Green Lea Manor Nursing Home, Rosary Group, and going to Walmart.  She was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church in Canton.

Carolyn passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008 at the Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, Iowa at the age of 75.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Hanlon of Canton; three children Nick
(Rene) of Kennesaw, Georgia, Kim (Jerry) Bakke and Marc both of Canton; six grandchildren Kristi (Peter) Elsbernd, Lucas (Jessica) Wangen, Michele Wangen, and Nicole, Samantha, and Rachael Prestby; two great grandchildren Ashley and Kendra Elsbernd; a brother Cy (Mary) Snyder of Neenah, Wisconsin; two sisters Georgia Lee of Aurora, Colorado and Mary (Pat) Caldwell of Canton; brother and sister-in-laws Bruce and Eileen Johnson of Broomfield, Colorado; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins she loved dearly.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a niece Debra Caldwell; and a brother-in-law Stan Lee.

Funeral Mass will be 11 AM Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Canton, Minnesota with Father Donald P. Schmitz officiating.
